Fast rising Country crossover artist Binky is one of the many artists taking advantage of the ever growing genre development. Country Music is one of the hardest to pin down and it’s thanks to that, that so many artists are able to seamlessly crossover into the Country world and blend other sounds to create a dynamic sonic style.
The Londoner showcased her Pop-Country tinged sound on previous hits such as ‘Don’t Let Go’, her previous releases and is unafraid of exploring the “poppier” terrain currently dominated by the likes of Lauren Alaina and Maren Morris.
This blend of genres is certainly paying off for Binky who currently boasts over half a million streams on streaming giant Spotify and the bubbly singer/songwriter showcases yet another string to her bow with her brand new offering ‘Drug In My Head’. The single marries her passion for Country with the catchy pop hooks of Carly Rae Jepsen, the result is a truly addictive listen.
The track has been co-written with Michael Stockwell (Anteros / Super Junior). Speaking about working with Stockwell, Binky says: “Michael had come up with the riff for the first line of the chorus and thought it could be something special so he called me in. He originally pencilled the song to be about fire, but I really wanted to go for a cool summer vibe. As you know we had such an incredible summer last year, that seemed to last forever, and everyone was out enjoying a glass of wine or going on holiday. And this really inspired me to write a fun feel summer track.”
